For my second week of work, I was the "Star 'Student'" of the week! Below is the star that I made! I had to blur out some personal information, but the kids loved it! They learned a lot about me!!!

More Teacher Appreciation Week Gifts
Yes I definitely started working on the right week :-) I did not get a picture of the lunch from the last day of the week, but we got personally made pizzas any way we wanted, and a HUGE selection of desserts! It was really nicely done and greatly appreciated!
Some Pictures
There is not much to write about my second day, so here are just some pictures of the classroom and the second gift I got from the PTO for Teacher Appreciation Week!
My First Day
My first day started out eventful enough. I was so nervous. I walked into the office to let them know that it was my first day. They had no idea that I was starting that day! Apparently the HR office had not passed along the message. So my classroom actually had a substitute already prepared for my position that day. It did not cause any issues because that just meant there were more hands to help!
I went down to the classroom and the teacher I work under was so surprised and excited that I was there! I met the student teacher as well. I was shown where my desk was and given some brief information about what I would be doing that day. The last para had left some notes outlining what was done each day.
The funny thing was that the substitute para was the wife of my old coworker from the job I had just left. That made me feel a bit more comfortable since there was at least some familiarity for me. The kids were all sweet and very excited that I was there.
For my last shift of the day I do lunch duty. So I was given information about what my job would be. I saw three children that I have known since they were babies. That made me feel comfortable as well! On my way out, I saw that I had a mailbox already! Woo hoo!!

In the mailbox was my timesheet and a bag of popcorn! I did not get a picture of it, but it said "You put the 'pop' in our corn!" on it! (I just happened to start on teacher appreciation week hehe) So I went home and I was very satisfied with my day. It has been a long time since I've been happy at a job!
New Job!!
I should have started this blog two weeks ago. I just started working as a first grade paraprofessional. My ultimate goal is to eventually become a teacher. With this job I am helping with teaching and I will have enough time in the day to go to school, unlike my previous job. I am just going to post some things that go on during my day at school with the kids!
